Anderson-Oconee Speech & Hearing Clinic

About Us

Founded in 1967, Anderson-Oconee Speech & Hearing (AOSH) is a non-profit organization located in the South Carolina upstate. With two offices located in the region and one mobile device, we are determined to meet the needs and concerns of the surrounding area while delivering exceptional service to anyone suffering from a speech and/or hearing problem.

Although we do have fees for our services, as a registered affiliate of United Way, and an approved provider of Medicaid and Medicare, we will serve anyone regardless of income or ability to pay. In fact, we are the only agency in Anderson County (a place where approximately 24,500 residents live below the poverty line) that services hearing impaired children whose families cannot afford it.

The AOSH family firmly believes communication is an everyday miracle and no person—under any circumstance—should be deprived of such opportunities.

Here at Anderson-Oconee Speech & Hearing, we work diligently to counteract the ongoing dilemmas surrounding hearing loss. We provide follow-up services for newborns referred to us from hospital screenings, and work to achieve success in just six months. As the only agency in Anderson County that serves hearing and speech impairments in the same center, we provide evaluations to children and adults of any age. Our mobile unit allows us to travel all across Anderson County and some the surrounding area providing pre-schools and daycares with speech and hearing evaluations. From here, therapy is provided based on the results of the evaluation. We continuously consult physicians regarding medical involvement and administration to address the needs of the child in the classroom.
